Women in Ecology: Inspiring, Protecting, Changing the World!

Ahead of International Women’s Day, QazaqGeography hosted an inspiring event dedicated to the remarkable role of women in environmental conservation and education in Kazakhstan. The event brought together eco-activists, researchers, bloggers, and public figures who are shaping a greener future with their initiatives.

The Chairperson of QazaqGeography, Aigerim Musagazhinova, emphasized the importance of women’s leadership in the field of ecology:

"Women play a crucial role in protecting nature and fostering environmental awareness. Their initiatives, dedication, and drive for change inspire society and guide us toward a more sustainable future."

Key Topics Discussed:
✔ Women’s contributions to environmental protection – real stories and achievements.
✔ Environmental education and its significance – cultivating responsible attitudes toward nature.
✔ Biodiversity conservation, waste separation, and ecological education.

Inspiring Speakers Who Shared Their Vision:

Mariyam Kasymova, eco-blogger and founder of the Darmarka movement, shared how her initiative has helped collect over 3 tons of recyclable and hazardous waste. She emphasized that waste separation is not just a trend but a necessity, especially in growing urban areas.
Nazereke Bizhanova, PhD, an expert on the rare Turkestan lynx, highlighted the main threats to this endangered species and explained why environmental education is a key tool for preserving biodiversity.
Dariya Gylymyzhankyzy, an eco-trainer, stressed the importance of starting ecological education from childhood, as early awareness is essential for building a sustainable future for Kazakhstan.

This event became an important step in uniting people who care about the future of our planet.
