A new environmental magazine published in Kazakhstan

A new quarterly magazine dedicated to historical, cultural and natural heritage, development of national patrimony, topical challenges in ecology and environmental protection, research works and discoveries in geography, ethnography, history, biodiversity, promotion of tourism and popularization of the identity of Kazakh people was launched in Kazakhstan.

New “Qazaq Geography” magazine is published by Qazaq Geography National Public Association and will feature expert articles, research papers, comments and opinions of leading experts, scientists, and public figures on all the topics mentioned above.

“Qazaq Geography” magazine plays a role of a link between non-governmental organizations, businesses, the state itself and concerned citizens, and also stands as platform for discussion of challenges and issues related to studying historical, cultural, natural and spiritual heritage of our people and Kazakhstan as well as challenges of climate change, the need to preserve biodiversity, sustainable development and science-based economy. The journal is open to cooperation with famous world scientists, representatives of foreign geographical societies and experts from international organizations all over the world as well as aspiring enthusiasts in all related sciences.

Qazaq Geography” magazine is a momentous event both for Kazakhstan and for our region as a whole,” said Askar Mamin, Chairman of Qazaq Geography.
We do hope that this magazine will take its niche among people of all generations, from schoolchildren to world-renowned scientists and will truly cause a genuine and sincere interest among all concerned citizens in the preservation of the material and non-material world heritage, unite our efforts to study, preserve and pass on these values to future generations,” he concluded.

The very first publication of Qazaq Geography includes the impact of climate change on biodiversity, the role of renewable energy in sustainable development, and the links between environmental degradation and public health Zarina Nurlanova, editor-in-chief said.

The magazine will also feature interviews with leading environmentalists, politicians and business leaders on the latest views and solutions to environmental issues.
“Qazaq Geography”’s print version is available of 10 000 copies while all articles will be available to readers in Kazakh and Russian languages. The magazine is currently accepting submissions for future issues and welcomes contributions from scholars, researchers, and experts on all of the above topics.
