Analysts of Aviasales.kz conducted a study and found that the tourist flow to Kazakhstan in 2023 has already increased by 11% compared to the same period last year. Kazakhstan is becoming more and more attractive to foreign tourists.
If last year in the top destinations from where people buy tickets more often met the neighboring countries of Central Asia and Russia, this year the demand for travel to Kazakhstan among Turkey, UAE and Georgia is growing significantly.
Top countries are as follows:
1) Russia,
2) Turkey,
3) Thailand,
4) Uzbekistan,
5) UAE,
6) Georgia.
"We are seeing a significant increase in demand for travel to Kazakhstan from abroad by the summer. It's good to see that demand has increased compared to last year. The main city where foreigners fly in is Almaty. More often people come to our country for picturesque nature and mountain hiking", - said Yulia Isakina, Head of Aviasales.kz.
The most popular destinations in 2023 are Almaty, Astana, Aktau and Shymkent.
Interest in domestic tourism also increased by 6%. Most often Kazakhs choose Almaty (35%) and Astana (30%) for domestic travel. Next in the top are Shymkent (8%), Aktau (5%), Aktobe (4%) and Atyrau (4%). The cheapest domestic ticket in 2023 cost $24 and was in the direction of Astana - Pavlodar.
