“Astana – Old Town” Excursion: A Journey Through Time and History

On April 4, a unique excursion took place, immersing participants in the history of Kazakhstan's capital. Organized in collaboration with Temirtas Iskakov and the Astana Guides Club, the event allowed guests to see the city through the eyes of the past and feel its history on streets that hold centuries-old secrets.

Discovering Astana’s Heritage

During the excursion, attendees experienced:

• The hidden borders of an ancient fortress, now embedded within the modern cityscape;
• The sacred dwelling of nomads – the yurt, offering insight into traditional ways of life;
• The meaning behind the city’s street names, reflecting historical events;
• A pineapple brought to the region 100 years ago, revealing unexpected trade connections;
• The transformation of Tselinograd into Kazakhstan’s capital, shaping its contemporary identity.
