The number of domestic tourists has broken the record in Kazakhstan

In 2022, Kazakhstan recorded a record number of domestic tourists - 8.6 million people. This is reported by Tengritravel.kz with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Sports.
It should be noted that the number of domestic tourists is 1.7 million higher than last year's figures.
According to the press service, the increase in the number of leisure facilities in the country affected the growth of tourists. In 2022, 284 new placements appeared, and their total number in the country reached four thousand. Meanwhile, the one-time capacity increased by 10 thousand units and amounted to more than 203 thousand beds.
"Domestic tourism is no less important for us than attracting foreign visitors. For example, the Kids Go Free program has been operating for more than a year, thanks to which children are provided with free air travel in Kazakhstan. It is also planned to introduce a tourist cashback for citizens traveling within the country. We will continue to work on existing distinations and increase interest in domestic tourism," said Vice Minister of Culture and Sports Yerzhan Yerkinbayev.
