On February 21-22, the First Capital Guides and Tour Leaders Forum is taking place in Astana

The forum is dedicated to the World Tour Guides Day, celebrated on February 21.

As is known, during the extended Government meeting on January 28, 2025, the Head of State emphasized the importance of making the tourism industry a key driver for economic growth, increasing investment attractiveness, improving infrastructure, and preparing highly qualified professionals to provide high-quality tourism services.

In this regard, the forum has become a platform where representatives of the capital’s tourism sector delivered reports on the pressing issues of the tour industry, which plays a significant role in tourism development. Participants highlighted the importance of professional training for guides and tour leaders, which could positively impact the growth of tourist flow to Astana.

On the first day of the forum, QazaqGeography proposed several areas for collaboration with the professional community of guides and tour leaders, including:
  • The “BizQazaqGeography” Info-Communication Platform: A space for discussing industry-related issues in the tour guiding sector with the participation of leading international and national experts.
  • Joint projects and initiatives: Engaging guides in projects aimed at promoting domestic tourism, increasing environmental awareness, and preserving natural heritage.
  • Developing joint excursion programs: Creating unique and thematic tours across Astana and Kazakhstan. These can include general sightseeing routes as well as specialized ones, such as ecological, historical, or cultural tours.
  • Organizing various thematic events: QazaqGeography supports activities such as competitions, tourist quests, ecological campaigns, and educational lectures, making them engaging for both tourists and locals.

The event gathered around 80 representatives of the capital’s and regional excursion industry.
