Development of ecological tourism in Altyn-Emel and Charyn National Parks

Project goal is to preserve the pristine integrity of the protected area and develop sustainable eco-tourism in the Charyn and Altyn-Emel State National Natural Parks, as well as to improve the well-being of rural residents through the development of tourism based on local communities.

TASKS:

Preserving the ecology of destinations by educating tourists and local residents on the topic of ecology, eco-tourism, as well as compliance with the requirements for the operation of territories;
Promoting domestic tourism;
Providing tourists with complete and reliable information about destinations, types of recreation and entertainment both locally at points of sale and in the digital space;
Creating and developing basic infrastructure;
Creating and developing a tourist eco-system with the involvement of local residents and partners.

What is already there?

To date, basic infrastructure has been installed in two national parks, including shade canopies, gazebos, trash cans, waterless eco-toilets, viewing decks, navigation, and cellular communication stations. In 2022-2023, glamping sites, camping sites, visitor centers will be installed on the territory of national parks, and ethno-villages will be created.

Another goal of the project is to involve the local population in the development and operation of tourist services. Training seminars and trainings have been organized for them, which will allow residents of villages nearby to the parks to create their own business. For example, they will be able to organize guest houses, start the production and sale of souvenirs or food.

In addition, through the project, additional jobs will be organized - recruitment of personnel for such positions as a manager (local manager), a tour guide, a safety instructor, a sales consultant, a maid/cleaner, a waiter, a cook, a driver, a carpenter and others is planned in the visitor centers.

QazaqGeography sets itself the task of providing national natural parks with the highest quality and convenient infrastructure, making them attractive to tourists, while preserving their uniqueness, primevalness and purity of our nature. QazaqGeography intends to change for the better the attitude of our society to the nature of our native land, to educate and instill the concern of the whole people about the national domain and heritage of our ancestors.
